With a new Doctor Who immersive theatre show coming late 2020, the BBC studios and Showtime Theatre Productions needed a website to build anticipation and excitement. The website had to be simple and informative, designed consistent with the Doctor Who branding. The audience needed to be able to purchase Galifreyan Coin tokens that equates to one ticket, providing priority access to book performances.
The holding page launched on time for the marketing campaign and receive wide publicity, in the first week customers poured in to buy their presale tickets, subscribed for updates or contacted. The website is a success, it communicates the immersive Doctor Who show in a seamless experience achieving the objective set by Showtime Theatre Productions and BBC Studio. All this was delivered in 9 weeks, from planning, design, development to deployment. This was the first part of the project, with a complete booking website to follow.
